I want to challenge you to come up higher, to a new level of faith! Mark 11 is so revolutionary, so powerful, it has changed my life! Jesus saw a fig tree full of leaves and He went to it hoping to find some figs (v13). But He found nothing but leaves. So what did Jesus do with the fig tree? He cursed it. The following day, Peter saw the dead tree; Jesus said to him, "Have faith in God! If you don't doubt in your heart but believe that what you say will happen, you shall have whatever you say!" Let me challenge you: if you speak in faith and authority according to the will of God, and don't doubt, you will be healed, your family will be blessed, your financial burden will move, even if those things are mountains in your life!

Jesus came to bring a message of love, hope, peace and blessing; He shows us how to overcome the evil that is in the world, how to resist temptation. Above all, Jesus came to reconcile us back to God and to each other. The Bible says that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but that through Him we might find deliverance. Isaiah prophesied, 'The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned... For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given'.

Don't be afraid; only believe! If only we could hear the Words of Jesus; in your life, in your problems today, if you will only believe and not be afraid, that problem which looks insurmountable, that situation which appears permanent, will change by the power of Jesus' Name. People may tell you that your problem is too far gone, that it is too late for a miracle; Jairus was told in Mark 5.35, "Don't trouble Jesus anymore, your daughter is dead", but Jesus will say to you, as He said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; only believe".

In our moments of crisis, it is so easy to blame somebody else, to make others responsible for our misfortune - this is what the disciples tried to do in John 9, they asked, Who sinned that this man was born blind? 'When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to Myself' (John 12.32). Jesus was saying through death, not through life, He will draw more people to Himself than He could by living. If Jesus was to die, it was not because of His wrong doing; not because of old age, as He was only 33 when He died; not because of sickness, as He had no sickness; He was to die for a purpose: His death was to have a significance which would affect the whole world. In His death He would pay the price of our sin for all time.

Day of Judgment and Victory

Even if we don't see it here on earth, the Bible is very clear, there is a day of judgment; death is not the end, it does not mean oblivion, because after death comes judgment. We need to be prepared for this. Jesus said, "Now is the judgment of the world; now the ruler of the world will be cast out." Thank God for the words of the Bible, there is a day coming when the good that is God will overcome evil which is the devil!

There are many times in our lives when we need to cry out, "help!" And when you do, Jesus is there listening to your cry.
