Possess ALL the blessings! (The secret to 70 years of ministry)

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.’ To most of us, the ‘heavenly places’ are Heaven itself, something future. But what Paul is saying, is that God has blessed us NOW with all spiritual blessings – blessings which we should now be enjoying! Because vv11-13 speak of Jesus Christ, ‘in whom we have obtained an inheritance, being pre-destinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His Will, that we should be to the praise of His Glory…in whom you also trusted after you heard of the Truth, the Gospel of your salvation, in whom, after you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession…’ This is so interesting. Paul is clearly saying, we have obtained an inheritance! People wonder how, at my age, I can still preach the way I do, why I see the many miracles, and why God has so blessed my ministry – it’s because I learned, from my earliest days, the significance of this message that the Holy Spirit gives you the key to ALL the Glory and Power of God, the ability to do ALL that Jesus did! What did Jesus say? He said, I’m going to My Father, I will ask Him and He will send the Holy Spirit – and these works that I do, you will do and greater, because I’ve gone to My Father! I want you to understand, we CAN expect the greater miracles, the greater Power, the greater Glory!

A Glorious Future (New Year Message)

This New Year don’t look back on 2020, rather, realise that the tomorrow we have is more glorious than our yesterdays. The future in front of us becomes more and more glorious, and powerful, and precious. Paul encourages us, ‘I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 3.14. It echoes what he said in v13, ‘I don’t count that I have apprehended’ I want to encourage you, wherever you are, whatever you’ve achieved, always keep this sense that there is something more in front of you. Keep pressing forward!
Let me pray for you: "Lord encourage the listeners of this programme, to not look at the problems in their lives, but to look to the future! I pray for a glorious future for everyone, that we will press forward, however hard it is, that we will climb to that higher height, and even in this coming year, spiritually, even materially, we will reach a higher level. Lord, lift me up and let me stand on higher ground, a higher place than I have found. Plant my feet on higher ground. There is so much more that God can do in your life and mine! God bless you! Amen!"

Christmas Greetings - You are never alone

In this year of lockdown and restriction, I want to encourage you: love is greater than distance! You may not be with your family, but that doesn't diminish the love you feel for them. Just as it is with Jesus! I shall not see Jesus in the flesh this year, and hopefully not for many years, but this only strengthens the relationship and love He has for me and I for Him!

It's all about Jesus (Christmas Message #2)

It’s all about Jesus! I want us to forget the problems of 2020, and focus on Jesus, our problem-solver! Let’s remember the Christ of Christmas. Just as when we take Communion, we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus, so at Christmas we must remember Jesus divested Himself of all His heavenly glory: the ‘Word became flesh and dwelt among us’. The angel instructed Joseph, “You shall call His Name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” The very Name of Jesus means salvation: salvation from our sins; salvation from our sicknesses; salvation from all that troubles us.

The Fire of God through prayer

Do you want to see the Fire of God? An answer to prayer? Through prayer, call for and expect an answer to the specifics of your problem. Whoever you are. We have to re-examine prayer. I have to re-examine prayer! In 2 Chronicles 7, when Solomon had made an end of praying, the Fire came down from Heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the Glory of the Lord filled the House. If we today would pray like this, with such Authority and such Power so that the Glory of God would come down! I urge you to read Solomon’s prayer in 2 Chronicles 6&7 – these chapters are among the greatest examples of intercession in the Bible; there is so much we can learn here. 

Christ IN us (Christmas Message #1)

I want to encourage you this Christmas with the Words of Jesus, “Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28.20.) Whatever hardship you are experiencing, Christ is with you! Although 2020 has been especially difficult with pandemic, lockdown and isolation, it doesn’t change the message of Christmas, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.” I want to remind you that this Christmas we are celebrating that Christ lives in you! He is with you and will be until that day when He takes us into the Kingdom. His promise is that He will never leave or forsake you.

God keeps His promises

To me, the most powerful prayers in the Bible are in the Old Testament. As Solomon kneels on that altar in 2 Chronicles 6, he’s crying out to God to FULFIL every Promise, to VERIFY all the Promises He has made! There should come a time in our own praying when we are calling on God to fulfil His Promises!!! This is why we need to pray over the Word of God! We need to SEEK the Word of God! Whatever my crisis, I SEEK God through His Word! God never, ever fails! God has never once – in all my 70 years of ministry – failed to keep the Promises He has made to me! That applies to everything, not just healings, but to every single thing! I STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD – AND GOD ANSWERS!

Declaration of Faith

Mark 11 is a tremendous challenge and a tremendous promise! Mountain moving faith does not come from the formality of reading prayers or reciting the Lord’s Prayer, it is something quite different! What Jesus is teaching us here is that it is not always a question just of ‘prayer’, but a declaration of FAITH, a command in FAITH: MOUNTAIN, MOVE!

God will never fail you

Faith is EVIDENCE. Not just the miracle. It’s faith itself which become the EVIDENCE, the SUBSTANCE of things which we don’t have but which we are hoping for. Why so often do we Christians look first for the material answers and don’t look to the spiritual? To God! We would rather go to something we can see and which we think we can depend on. Just as Isaiah said, “Why do you look to the number of chariots, to the men in the army?” They are not God! They are only flesh, and flesh can fail. But God CANNOT EVER, EVER FAIL YOU! 

Standing on the Promises of God

If you can believe just one of God’s Promises, if you can believe even just part of God’s Word – then I challenge you to believe the whole! I believe the Bible from cover to cover, I believe it is the inspired Word of God. I’m challenging you to have that confidence that God CANNOT and WILL NOT and DOES NOT FAIL! There’s an old song, ‘Standing on the Promises of God’! That’s what we have to do! Don’t go back to ‘Egypt’, don’t go back to the strength of the horses and the chariots – let’s stand absolutely firm on the Authority and Power of God’s Promises! And if you are going to believe just one, why not believe them all? 

In whom do you trust?

Our strength, our hope is in God, not in men! The world is facing so many crises at the moment; Isaiah says, why do you trust in material things and human power? Sooner or later they will fail. But God is so different! That’s why Scripture teaches us to put our trust in Him, believe what He says. If only we would take God at His Word, literally!!! We have to learn to have the confidence to believe God will do what He says! 

The God who answers by Fire

Why is God allowing this pandemic? I don’t believe God has sent it, but I think it’s been permitted – for a reason! Just as here in 1 Kings you have three years of drought – in order that people may finally come to a decision, who will they serve? I believe Britain is in such a sinful godless state that God has to demonstrate and show His Power today. As Christians we have not only to pray, but to accept a challenge. It’s in my heart, it’s what I am praying over, that God will do something so incredible, so miraculous that there is no question – ONLY GOD COULD DO IT!

Between two decisions

The challenge is, who is the real God? We’re faced with a major issue today. Many of us listening and watching this broadcast know the reality of God and His Power. But our nation doesn’t know Him, they are serving their own false gods, they’ll follow their own leaders, fashion and celebrity. They’re not seeking God, they’re ‘sitting on a fence’. We all must decide whom we will serve. 

God's supply is inexhaustible

When we trust God, our bread and water, the basic necessities, everything we need for life, will always be there. The Power and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit will never run dry. It doesn’t matter how much I use the Holy Spirit, how much I pray, how many miracles I see, that precious cruse of oil of the Holy Spirit will never, ever run out. God’s supply is inexhaustible. I KNOW that! I have no fear of the future. I have no fear that the miracles of the past will diminish and go away. God has promised that He will never leave or forsake us, so we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear."

Through faith we obey and receive

Do you understand the power of faith to convince us that God will never ever, ever fail to keep His Promise?!! Even if everything around us seems to conspire against it, God won’t fail!!!
Somebody once said, there are three levels of faith. The first level of faith is that you believe in something because all the evidence is there that it is going to happen. The second level is when you are believing for something and there is nothing at all to support or convince you that it could happen. But the third level of faith is when everything is against you – it can’t happen! Faith when it’s impossible, absolutely impossible. 

The substance and confidence of our faith

The faith Paul is describing in Hebrews 11:1 is remarkable. For so many Christians, ‘faith’ is something ‘mythical’, ‘mystical’, something they should have, but they are not sure they do have it: I’m sick, and I wish I had the faith to believe that I could be healed... This is unfortunately an error and a tragedy in the Church. So many people say to me, “Oh I wish I had your faith that I could be healed, will you pray for me?” Yes, the gift of faith is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was 13, I read carefully where Paul says, “Covet earnestly the best gifts.” I read through the list and decided I would ask for the gift of faith. That has transformed the whole of my life. But it’s one gift you can never say you’ve got! Because ‘faith’ is only as good as your life today.
