Seeing Jesus asleep in the storm, the disciples thought He didn't care that they were perishing. But it was quite the opposite. Jesus wanted them to have faith in Him, to put their trust in His peace. All the time that Jesus was asleep, they were safe, because Jesus knew He would get to the other side of the lake. In your storm, look to Jesus; put your faith in His peace; for if Jesus can be at rest in the midst of chaos, you can too.

When the disciples came face-to-face with the real Power and Authority of Jesus, in amazement they said, 'What kind of Man is He?' When they saw what He could do, they were shocked, they marvelled. There is no one like our God; His Power is without limit! Every act of God is a miracle, because it is always something man cannot do. God never fails; He cannot fail. Everything He does is a miracle. The day God fails, He is no longer God. It's His character. He is the God of miracles! We all have many kinds of problems, many different needs, but I believe in miracles. Every act of God is a miracle, because a miracle is something man cannot do. Why did God send Jesus to earth? - To prove He has power on earth to forgive sin and heal the sick.

Jesus, the Son of God, was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, rejected by men; yet He had so much power, not just power in heaven, but power on earth. Why did God send His Son alone into a world which would kill Him? To demontrate two things: firstly, that He had power on earth to heal the sick, and secondly, that He could forgive sin. This is why He could say to the paralytic, "Be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you: arise, take up your bed and walk!"

You can't have a miracle without a problem! If the boat had not been in a storm on the sea, there would have been no miracle with Jesus walking on the water. If you want to see miracles, God is going to use your problem, your difficulty, your crisis, in order to work the miracle. That crisis you have - that sickness, that cancer, that arthritis, that financial problem - God will use this to create a miracle.

In the middle of the storm, Jesus began to walk on the water towards the disciples. Notice the time! Time with God is so important. If only you and I knew the time God has chosen, what a difference it would make to our lives! It is so significant that when Jesus is walking towards the disciples in that storm-tossed ship, the time He chooses is the darkest hour, when the storm is at its highest. But Jesus is there, walking towards them.

Live in the joy of your inheritance through Jesus. Your Father has promised you miracles of healing; joy unspeakable; He has promised you the world. Live in the blessing of God; enjoy the abundance of Christ.

You can enter into a new life of blessing. It is far more wonderful than anything you can imagine. But, you've got to possess the blessings of God for yourself. Don't be like the children of Israel who saw the Promised Land but never entered. Look at the blessings. Claim them for yourself. They are yours for the taking.

Take the land! Possess the promises of God. It is His command, not a request, to obtain possession of all that He has promised you. What does it mean to 'possess' the land? Look at it by faith - take it by action - fight for it by power!

We must prevail in prayer until God answers. Many are seeking power from God, but what is even greater is power with God. In Genesis 32.28, we have the story of how Jacob wrestled with God all night. At the end, God turned to Jacob and said, "As a prince, you have power with God and with man and have prevailed!"

Healing and forgiveness are intrinsically linked, that is why Jesus said to the paralysed man in Mark 2, 'That you may know the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.'

I know Jesus is alive, I talked with Him this morning. The reality of our relationship with Christ is in knowing Him. I talk to Him, He talks to me. Receiving my healing from throat cancer many years ago led me into a more positive experience in my Christian life: the realisation that if God says it in His Word then He will always do it!

'And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.' What a miracle, under the rules of the Temple, Jews had to continually make sacrifices to atone for their sins, but the Bible says Jesus died once to forgive the sins of the world and set us free! God sent His Son Jesus to redeem you and I; and God glorified Jesus by doing this.
