There is always trouble; there are always problems; but Jesus is there in the time of crisis. He gave us wonderful promises: "In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world! Although you have many afflictions, I will deliver you from them all!"

In our moments of crisis, it is so easy to blame somebody else, to make others responsible for our misfortune - this is what the disciples tried to do in John 9, they asked, Who sinned that this man was born blind? Jesus was very simple in His response, the blindness was not caused by the man nor his parents - then Jesus went on to say, "this man has a problem and I want to show you the power of God to solve that problem."

In your time of need, call upon the Name of Jesus, He will answer you. The Psalmist said, 'I sought the Lord and He answered me: those who look to Him are radiant.'

Seven times King and Parliament called the United Kingdom to prayer during WWII. Seven times the whole nation turned out and filled the churches, including those who had not been to church in years and those who had never been. Each time God answered by a remarkable miracle of deliverance.

Diagnosed with throat cancer in 1964, I faced a crisis in my life. I found myself constantly praying the same thing: "O God, I know You can heal, because of all the evidence in Your Word, as well as the other miracles which I have seen with my own eyes. But ... the problem is ... You can ... if You want to ... Is it Your will to heal me? All I am asking for is a positive yes or no." I picked up my Bible and read from Romans 8 verse 26, "We know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us ... according to the will of God." That was it! It came with certainty to me that God had said yes. I would be healed by a miracle.

At the mention of the Name of Jesus, the very presence of God will fill your life, setting you free. The very Name of Jesus brings hope: His Name means salvation and deliverance. His Name is filled with power and glory. Upon hearing His Name, demons have to flee, sickness will be healed. In your biggest crisis, in the time when you feel that your life is at an end, call upon His Name and He will answer you. If only you would believe in Jesus, you would see the biggest miracle of your life.

I want you to learn the importance of prevailing in prayer. When I was in that communist prison, and the guards were cursing me, saying that I would never get out alive, I began to pray. This is how I prayed: 'O God, 2000 years ago, Paul and Silas were in prison, they prayed, and You caused an earthquake which broke open the prison doors and released their chains. O God, if You could do it 2000 years ago, I want You to do it now and set me free!' You know the story. God worked a miracle and sent the British Prime Minister. I want you to realise that You can have the same power with God when you prevail in prayer. This is what happened with Jacob in the Bible, he wrestled with God all night, toward morning he said, 'I will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me.' God responded, '...for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed' (Genesis 32:26-28).

I want you to learn how to pray, and when you pray, how to get an answer. Recently I found myself asking the question we all ask, WHY? Why this? Why that? And I was asking, why is it that people pray and don't get an answer? Then it was as if the Lord said to me, "It's because they give up asking". The Scripture teaches: 'Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking reverently and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, the door will be opened' (Matthew 7:7-8, AMPC).

So many people know the Lord's Prayer, they can say the prayer, they can sing it - but they don't know the reality of the words. I want you to read Luke 11, because Jesus did not end with the 'Amen' of the prayer, but actually continued, "Which of you has a friend and shall go to him at midnight and say, 'Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine has come and I have no food in my house to give him.'" Jesus is talking about prayer! He says, eventually, if you keep knocking, your neighbour will give you what you ask, not because you are friends, but to stop you banging on the door! I want to show you the greatest lesson in prayer: don't take no for an answer, keep on asking, God will answer you!

If I could give you a gift, I would give you this verse from Jeremiah 33:3, 'Call, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things you know not.' I want you to learn to call on God - and He will answer you! Not only will He answer, but the reason I love this verse, and the reason I pray over this verse, is because God says, when He answers, He will show you great and mighty things you don't know; He will open up heaven and show you His glory. "O God, I call unto You, You have promised that You will answer me, and when You answer me, You are going to show me powerful things, something bigger than I can ever dream about."
